Athens, Greece

The South-Eastern country of European Union and Europe, Greece has over 6000 years of history. It's capital is Athens, mother of Democracy, Philosophy, Modern way of thinking and culture. Great people lived in Athens such as Solon, Pericles, Socrates, Aristotle, Themistocles and many more, so many that we don't have enough space to write about them. Athens nowadays, is a modern european Capital, with many opportunities of sight-seeing (Acropolis, Lycabbetus Hill, Thiseio, Museums, Parks, Piraeus, etc) and as Greeks say "wherever you dig, you'll find an ancient place".

In 2004 Athens will be the host of the Olympic Games. Athens and the whole of Greece works hard to present a perfect spectacle. Public Transport in Athens is efficient.
